Prior to relocating to Rotorua, I served as a physical training instructor in the Royal NZ Air Force and I have travelled to more than 40 countries. Devoting 20 years to working in leadership and personal development, I found success as a regional and national award-winning sales and marketing consultant. This taught me valuable business skills and after the crash of 2009 I saw an opportunity to help local business recover.
I established a large business networking group and after 10 years it is still in operation with 25 Rotorua businesses attending weekly meetings. I then went back to school to become a journalist working for three years in local television.
My service to the community includes volunteering with special needs, Justice of the Peace duties as well as a professional mentor and an accredited life coach. The next natural progression were governance roles in-which I was the founding deputy chair of a charitable trust, then founding a second charitable trust dedicated to developing young leaders.
I look forward to this new challenge as it presents all sorts of opportunities to help steer our country in a better direction than where it is currently heading.
