Deborah Burnside, Napier born and bred, married to Robert Burnside, entrepreneur, Farmer and ex Hastings District Councillor who together have raised three sons now all adults, Matthew, Simon and Andrew in Jervoistown, Meeanee.

Deborah cold started a waste and recycling wheeliebin business in 1990 to complement her husband’s existing commercial front load operation and that business is thriving today.

This drove her to an involvement with politics which led her to recognise the importance of preserving the family unit and how conservative values are being eroded in New Zealand.

She is passionate about preserving the environment with practical pollution solutions that allows everyone to contribute to better outcomes. As a lung cancer survivor with a strong interest in women’s health due to a lifelong affliction of endometriosis she is driven to improve the quality, availability and effectiveness of New Zealand’s health systems.

With Deborah’s dedication to Napier and her boundless energy she will be an outstanding representative for Napier.
