No new party has ever been able to enter parliament by securing 5% or more of the votes. As a result, up to 10% of votes for minor parties are “wasted” at general elections, and these voters choices for representation are rejected and considered unworthy. True democracy would serve them better and ensure as many voters as possible be represented in parliament.
