Margaret Colmore

Bay of Plenty Candidate

Find out more about Margaret and interact with her as a New Conservative Candidate for BOP.

My name is Margaret Colmore and I’ve sailed the world, travelled NZ in the motor home, and had several businesses. My husband and I bought a 5-acre Oropi property we run as a B&B and love giving international visitors a Kiwi country experience.

Like many involved with New Conservative, I’m not a career politician. But what I saw in South Africa, I see in NZ: divisions appearing as Treaty settlements go to the few, Maori companies paying no taxes, and increasing regulations and rates that erode profits.

When I became aware of the Labour Coalition’s Climate Change agenda to push NZ down a Zero Carbon path, I found clear scientific evidence that man’s input of 3% towards the total of 0.04% of carbon in the atmosphere can’t influence temperature. This science is suppressed. When I saw the radical social agenda of Agenda 21 and Agenda 20/30 I was alarmed. UN official Christiana Figueres admits that the “goal is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism”, redistribute wealth and radically reduce the world’s population. This will cost us NZ$70bn over the next decade towards the Paris Climate Accord.

So I joined New Conservative. I admire their practical, compassionate policies, developed by patriotic Kiwis with decades of relevant experience in each policy area. My aim is to see them in Parliament next year. New Conservative believes we can do far more for NZ conservation without borrowing thirty times the total of Treaty settlements in the coming decade, and giving most of that to corrupt carbon markets. As an NC volunteer I’m passionate about promoting this Party which advocates freedom, positive social values and polices, and protects our national sovereignty. “The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing” - Edmund Burke.
