Heritage Policy - New Conservative Party | New Zealand

Heritage Policy

New Conservative values our New Zealand culture, heritage, and identity. These aspects of who we are and what we do should be protected. The reason a tradition exists must be seriously considered before changes are made through legislation.

Our heritage may be difficult to quantify in dollar terms, but we must be careful not to allow change simply for monetary profit. New Conservative is opposed to trading on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We believe families can benefit greatly from the few days in each year when work is not required, and Easter trading simply takes one of these opportunities away.

Public statues and memorials to historic events and figures are an important part of our heritage and must be protected.

New Conservative is the only party prepared to state a policy on this.
