Alan Tāne Solomon is the New Conservative candidate for Rotorua.

Prior to relocating to Rotorua, Alan served as a physical training instructor in the Royal NZ Air Force and has travelled to more than 40 countries.
Devoting 20 years to working in leadership and personal development, he found success as a regional and national award-winning sales and marketing consultant. This taught him valuable business skills and after the crash of 2009 he saw an opportunity to help local business recover.
He established a large business networking group and after 10 years it is still in operation, with 25 Rotorua businesses attending weekly meetings. He then went back to school to become a journalist, working for three years in local television.
His service to the community has included volunteering to help people with special needs, Justice of the Peace duties as well as being a professional mentor and an accredited life coach. The next natural progression were governance roles, in which he was the founding deputy chair of a charitable trust, then founding a second charitable trust dedicated to developing young leaders.
“I look forward to this new challenge, as it presents all sorts of opportunities to help steer our country in a better direction than where it is currently heading.”
Rotorua voters are encouraged to give their party vote to New Conservative and their electorate vote to Alan Tāne Solomon.
