Benjamin is standing this year as the Christchurch Central candidate for New Conservative, having previously stood twice as a candidate in Waimakariri.
Benjamin has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years; having spent a significant amount of that time focused on Network Administration in New Zealand schools.
He has also owned his own IT related business since 2004.
His involvement in politics stemmed from concerns around a lack of proper democracy, and has been further cemented by witnessing the appalling levels of government overreach in the last three years, including the disarmament of upstanding and law-abiding citizens, and the continued erosion of freedom and free speech in New Zealand.
“The dangers we now face of repeating history — by allowing the socialist agenda of the current government to continue — are very real; it is time for us to take a stand while we have the opportunity to.
I take pride in being involved in such an important time in our nation; of having a part to play in setting things back on track for future generations; and building a better nation than we had before. We can fix this if we do it together”
On a personal side, Benjamin spent a number of years as a hobby beekeeper and is also a qualified dance instructor (training from the age of six until his early twenties, which led to involvement in both live theatre and film).
He is a licenced firearms holder, and has a private pilot’s licence.
He has travelled to more than 20 countries, and has a keen interest in hearing about real issues, and practical solutions being utilised to address them; especially if those solutions can be readily integrated or adapted to improve life in New Zealand.
