Erina Anderson is the New Conservative candidate for Tāmaki Makaurau, one of New Zealand’s seven Maori electorates. She is of the Ngati Maru iwi on her father’s side and the Ngati Kauwhata iwi on her mother’s side.
Erina has been happily married for 34 years. She has four beautiful Tamariki, and they have lived in Auckland for the past eleven years.
Erina was brought up on a farm with three sisters and two brothers. Her parents worked hard to provide for the six children, working multiple jobs. During this time, Erina’s mother would take her and her siblings to an Anglican church every Sunday that was located next to their marae of Aorangi. Through her upbringing, Erina learned the importance of whanau and the values of working hard, being grateful for what you have, and helping others. Erina has a strong Christian faith to this day, and since 1994, she has made it her life purpose to help others.
Over the years, Erina has worked as a caregiver, a cleaner and a truck driver. With every job she has had, she has tried to give back to the community. For instance, when she worked as a truck driver delivering food to supermarkets, she used it as an opportunity to drop leftover bread to churches and families in need.
Now Erina enjoys volunteering at Church through programmes such as CAPS (Christian Against Poverty), helping families in need with budgeting, and distributes Christmas boxes and food parcels. Most recently, she has been packing meals for soup kitchens in Otara and Papakura.
New Conservative’s policies value the family and personal responsibility, so they align with Erina’s philosophy of taking the initiative to help people where she can.
Erina is honoured to represent New Conservative in the Tāmaki Makaurau electorate.
Tāmaki Makaurau voters are encouraged to give their party vote to New Conservative and their electorate vote to Erina Anderson.
