Rudi has more than 12 years of extensive political experience. Ever since he moved to Hamilton, he has been involved with governance issues in the city. He has campaigned to run for local body government and is part of the Hamilton Residents and Ratepayers Association (HRRA). Rudi also has eight years’ experience as a city councillor in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He is a retired health care professional and is committed to preserving life from the womb to the tomb. He serves on several boards in New Zealand.
He studied Law at Waikato University, including the subjects of Constitutional Law and the Treaty of Waitangi.
Rudi attends Hamilton South Baptist Church and enjoys being part of a church community.
He is a straight shooter and has an absolute commitment to serve the people of the Hamilton West electorate.
Rudi recalls a great leader once saying: ‘It doesn’t matter which Party controls our Government, but rather whether or Government is controlled by the people.’”
In Rudi’s own words: “Our voters, yes, you and I, have been betrayed by the current political landscape. It is time to bring about a change that will protect the kiwi lifestyle. We need to restore the integrity of our society that made us unique in the world. It is a matter of respecting the trust that the voter affords our party. Smart politicians do NOT betray that trust.”
“I have always had an ‘open door’ policy and do not go into hiding once elected. Now is time for change in New Zealand. I may not know everything, but I do know right from wrong,” says Rudi.
New Conservative is the party that Rudi feels at home with. He is inspired by being a part of this movement of people looking to take charge of governance once again.
